DIRECTOR OF MEMBER SERVICES
The Columbia River Steamship Operators’ Association’s mission is to facilitate trade, provide business leadership, exercise principles of environmental stewardship, serve as an industry focal point, and promote safe, reliable, efficient, cost-effective practices within the industry. The Columbia River Steamship Operators’ Association (“CRSOA”) exists to support the continued wellbeing of the members and the profession. The organization has been serving ocean shipping interests calling in Oregon and Southwest Washington since 1922.
The Director of Member Services is a full-time position that reports to the CRSOA Executive Director and is responsible to support the membership, promote the mission, and achieve the goals of the Association.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential responsibilities for the Director of Member Services may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Managing member interactions in compliance with industry best practices and the bylaws of the CRSOA
- Managing registration and preparations of industry luncheons, functions, and events
- Takes minutes and prepares agendas and other material for Board of Director, Membership, Annual, and Special Meetings
- Answering membership inquiries, providing information to members and prospects
- Developing and providing member onboarding kits to new members and associate members
- Ensuring compliance with CRSOA policies and bylaws
- Managing member email announcement lists, e-newsletters, and membership renewal campaigns for associate members
- Creating membership marketing and outreach materials focused on informing membership and describing membership benefits that effectively communicate the mission and goals of the CRSOA
- Assisting in the development of member programs, position papers, social media posts, website content, and other outreach materials
- Effectively representing the interests of the CRSOA and its members within the maritime community and regulatory agencies
- Assisting in building the visibility and credibility of the CRSOA within the maritime community
- Anticipating and developing solutions to issues affecting the mission of the CRSOA and its members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- B.A./B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
- Maritime, Marketing, Event Planning, Advertising/Design, Program Management, Customer Service or related experience: 3-5 years
- Understanding of the maritime industry, Pacific Northwest or Columbia River System preferred
- Ability to build relationships with regulatory agencies
- Ability to build relationships with members and industry partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite software including, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Maintaining a professional and positive demeanor
- Possess open communications style
- Proven accuracy and attention to detail
- Understanding of the uses and potential of technology
- Understanding of the work and requirements of our members
- Ability to self-manage and prioritize
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to obtain an Oregon or Washington driver license within 30 days of hire
- Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identity Card (TWIC) within 30 days of hire
