CRSOA EventsEducational Luncheons
The CRSOA hosts bi-monthly educational luncheons focusing on issues impacting the river, updates from local stakeholders, members and industry partners. Social & Networking Events CRSOA hosts a Spring Fling, Summer Picnic, Topgolf Tournament and Christmas Luncheon for members and industry partners to socialize and have fun. Agent Breakfast Series Morning meetings with Federal, State and local government representatives focused on relevant and timely issues. Agent's Forum One day conference geared towards answering questions from our membership about cyber security, ship assist services, adjustments in the tariffs, understand and practical use of TV32, agent safety - on ship and launch, US Coast Guard - Inspections, Investigations, Waterways Management, Incident Management and Port State Control, grain inspection, ballast water - US Coast Guard, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, US Customs & Border Protection - forms, reporting, repatriation, deserters and absconders and weekend inspections, and legal and insurance, to name a few. Discover the River - Raising the Bar for Industry Excellence Members have the opportunity to tour different parts of our industry - Columbia and Willamette River deep draft ports and facilities, US Army Corps of Engineers dredges - YAQUINA and ESSAYONS, Port of Portland dredge OREGON and other items of interests for our members. Columbia Basin Maritime Leadership Training (COBALT) Members are invited to attend COBALT - a week-long structured series of presentations, tours, and discussion sessions offered to every newly arriving U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port/ Sector Commander and other U.S. Coast Guard senior leaders. Sessions are designed to quickly acquaint executive and mid-level Federal decision makers with our maritime industry’s issues, concerns, and priorities, and to encourage open dialogue with our region’s private sector leaders and experts. COBALT has been offered at least once a year, every year since 1997. Additional information about the program can be found here. US Coast Guard Missions Day - Sector 101 hosted by USCG Sector Columbia River Sector Commander and Captain of the Port Members have the opportunity to tour and learn about the US Coast Guard Sector Columbia River, including the Helicopter hanger, Command Center, Boarding Team, attendees travel to Station Cape Disappointment and visit the lighthouse. Lastly, members travel to Tongue Point and learn about the Aids to Navigation (ANT) on our river. |
